Lumera
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-13
Lumera Camera ("the app") is designed with privacy as a first principle. We do not collect, transmit, store on remote servers, or share any personal data. Everything happens on your device.
What the app accesses (and why)
| Permission | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | To capture photos | Local processing only; image data never leaves your device through the app |
| Photo Library (Add / Read-Write) | To save captured photos into an in-app album | Stays in your local Photos library; never uploaded |
| Location (When In Use) | Only if you enable "Record Location in Photos" in Settings | Embedded into the photo's EXIF metadata locally; not transmitted by the app |
All permissions are optional in the sense that the app degrades gracefully. Denying any of them does not crash the app, and you can revoke at any time via the system Settings app.
What we do NOT do
- No analytics SDKs
- No crash reporting that leaves the device
- No advertising / tracking identifiers
- No accounts, no sign-in, no cloud sync
- No background uploads of any kind
- No third-party data sharing
- No custom networking, analytics, or third-party network requests. In-app purchases are processed by Apple's StoreKit.
Data retention
- Photos you capture are saved to your iOS Photos library and live there under your full control. Delete them in Photos to remove permanently.
- App preferences (computational photography / face detection / haptic / format / lens / flash / Advanced Controls launch state) are stored in iOS
UserDefaults, which is part of the app's sandbox and removed when you uninstall the app. - Advanced Controls purchase entitlement is managed by Apple through StoreKit. Lumera does not collect or store payment information.
Children's privacy
Lumera Camera is rated 4+ and does not target children specifically. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, children or adults.
Your rights
Because we don't collect data, there is nothing to access, delete, port, or rectify on our side. To revoke any device permission, go to iOS Settings -> Lumera and toggle off Camera, Photos, or Location.
Changes to this policy
If we ever materially change this policy, the version in the latest App Store release will be the canonical one. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
